Duncan B
I was woken up in the middle of the night last night by a helicopter which seemed to be in the area for ages. Not sure what it was but must have been military or Coastguard as we're too far south to regularly get civvies out of ABZ, especially at stupid o'clock. lasermonkey
A Tiger Moth, some way in the distance. I could just about ID the type without my bins, but couldn't identify the airframe even with them. It looked like it could possibly have been white or silver, with black trim, though that could easily have been due to the bright sunlight. LotusArenco
Three Chinooks in a ‘v’ formation, possibly just taken off from RAF Northolt. Westbound following the A40. Off to Benson or Odiham I guess? Noisy blighters, I thought the bleeding Russians had invaded! Mart
lasermonkey
An Apache flew over low yesterday, maybe 400ft at most. Regular visitors round our way these days.
lasermonkey
A P-51D, just now, heading in a Duxfordy kind of direction. Really tanking it, too!
lasermonkey
Two more Apaches, this time at 250ft and 200ft respectively, jinking and heading west. I wonder how low they'll be tomorrow?
Beard
There's an exercise going on in St. Martins Plain near Folkestone this evening. So far there's been a Chinook, a Merlin and an unidentified smaller helicopter flying around.
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Not near my house im driving by Ohare airport in Chicago. I saw a 747 -400 air cargo type. Heres the funny thing zero windows, all white, no logo’s whatsoever, and only a tiny dark blue or black registration # under the horizontal stabs. Do some air cargo companies paint there own aircraft ?

Do some air cargo companies paint there own aircraft ? It's possibly an airframe that's owned by a lease company, on short term hire to someone else. It's also possible that it belongs to a freight company who don't advertise on their aircraft (aircraft painting is expensive), or maybe it's the CIA's secret shipping company... (Oh wait, it was white, not black.) You didn't happen to get the rego by chance?
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Sadly no it was landing at an odd angle. All i could see was a reg # in blue/black flash by.

It was snowing hard and the vertical visibility was about 50ft. Hope their sat navs were working.
Rick Brown
U2s at 45000 feet going North about 50mins ago. Nothing else looks, or sounds, like that at that altitude! Seen on ADSB-Exchange. Rick.
Corsairfoxfouruncle
I saw an F7F Tigercat take off from the local Airport heading west yesterday. I was surprised to see it in December ? Im guessing it was a fuel stop, because there isn't one based around here.

John B (Sc)
At my daughter's house in Brighton, Saturday I saw a Dragon Rapide fly over, heading West. Just now, at home a very fast Typhoon departure, sounding like a max performance training run. Or a scramble.
