PhantomBigStu Posted November 25, 2014 Share Posted November 25, 2014 Painting a harrier gr7 as Zd433 from the airfix kit using the humbrol acrylic call outs and it looks significantly darker than the 3 view colour plans or any pics of real aircraft, I know there can be a scale effect for colours but seems far more drastic for this, particulary as the MSG looks like it should , Ill post a pic in the morning if I can get good lighting, is it dodgy couple or pots or something else? SaintsPhil Posted November 26, 2014 Share Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) I wouldn't worry about comparing it to the colour call out, that won't use accurate colours, it's just a representation. I can't comment on the accuracy of the humbrol colours, as I don't use them. Maybe someone has compared them to a BS colour chart?.. One thing I have noticed is that with my paints of choice (GSI mr color) the stencils disappeared against the 'Camo grey' which implies either my paint is too dark or the stencils are too light...
