Vietnam willys jeep very sorry about the confusion

This model represents an M151A2 used in the invasion of Greneda by the 82d Airborne in 1983.

Will be a straight forward build . No thrills .

Just out of the box simple , since I have a big build going on at the moment .

Please enjoy the ride

Rick

Was the A2 version used in Vietnam?, or are you building the 'Grenada' version?

I can't answer that .

sorry.

Maybe someone will will answer that .

This is my plan

Primer , paint rust color , wet areas , salt , paint olive drab , brush off salt to show some rust . clear coat .

Looking good!

Vietnam saw the M151 and M151A1. The A2 came about afterwards, about 1976 IIRC.

The only real visual difference I can remember, It's been 40+ years, is the M151 and 151A1 had squared off front fenders with small turn signals.

I think! :banghead:

On two things on this model thats not supplied . Antenna and strap for luggage on the hood .No big deal ..

I'm going to primer then go had thanksgiving lunch

Enjoy

What a lovely little kit, Rick. How are you going to weather it?

I was going to do a rust . But a friend of mine . Says army took good care of these jeeps from rust . Must be better paint jobs ,

This maybe a little dust and mud weathering .

Not sure yet /.

Rick

Also

This is what modeling is to be for me . Simple and fun to build . No stress on scratch building parts .

Just plain and simple

My antenna is little thicker than I wanted . I don't have any other brass or wire size . Its straight now and I add a spring .
I installed Archer decals for the ammo boxes . Those Archer decals are very nice .
Enjoy

Thank you George .

Since this is a Greneda build, I try a new technique. I used pastels to make the dust effect . I really like doing that . I will apply that in more model builds .

Today I glued the army men in place .

I hope tomorrow to lay down some matt clear ..

I will post photos maybe tomorrow or late Sunday .

Thanks

Rick
