shood23
I have bought a couple of aoshima kits recently and I have to say they are very good on first inspection A month or 2 back i got there mclaren f1 gtr kit and it is so much better than fujimis offering the finish before i have touched it looks to be very crisp with no signs of flash or excess and the detail on it is just unbelievable for something in this scale (1/24) the only down side that i can see is that some of the areas look quite fiddly to put together And today, as mentioned in what have you bought thread, my lamborghini murcielago r-sv turned up and as you do I ripped it open and looked through it and again it does look to be very good it even has doors that open and shut. Looking at it it does look to just be aoshimas standard murcielago sv kit withthe race car parts added but as some will have seen from the picture on the other thread it looks mean (as most lambos do) and on a quick skim tthrough the book it looks to go together easier aswell But either way it is a very nice instalment to the series There was rumor earlier in the year that they were working on making a mclaren mp4-2c but they abandoned that as beemax are making it. Shame really as I think aoshima would have had a really good product there Shaun
Mafney
Hi Shaun, Saw your post of the Lambo in the "Recently bought" thread too, it looks amazing on the box art! Will have to start looking into what other kits these guys offer, as it's all promising so far and judging by your praise initially, hopefully would be a pleasure to build as well. Will be keeping an eye out for WIP threads when you get started on them!
Steve Noble
They are still making the McLaren MP4/2C. It was Fujimi who cancelled theirs, not Aoshima. Beemax are working in partnership with Aoshima. They have just released the new 1/24 Toyota Celica ST165 from the 1991 Monte Carlo rally, which is boxed as a Beemax/Aoshima product as well...
