The wooksta V2.0
Well, not quite. One definitely is a Spitfire, the other is a Swift. The latter doesn't really fit into The Plan but I had a Testors one kicking about with an Airkit upgrade for it, and with the Airfix one imminent, I thought it worth using up. Too basic a kit to really faff about with, so the approach I take with the Frog Attacker is taken here - wheels up, black canopy, in flight desktop model. Overall Halfords Gloss Aluminium, markings a mixture from the spares box. 74 Sqn were slated for Swifts, so it's a nearly might have been rather than a pure what if. The old Airfix stand is really a quickie to get the model out there, although it seems quite fitting really. I've since acquired a Frog "Skybase" stand which will get sprayed black for display purposes. The former? An OOB Airfix Mk.I new tool. It's very subtle indeed and you have to REALLY know your subject to spot it. Edited November 21, 2014 by The wooksta V2.0

Pete in Lincs
Okay, I'll bite. Everyone else is hiding in the slit trench. So, Two blade prop so very early. Is that a RN or BN fuselage code? I may have to wait for Edgar on this one.

JosephLalor
Beyond me anyway. Wasn't BN the code for 240 Sqn, a Stranraer unit?
Rick Brown
Yuck, yuck.
The wooksta V2.0
Yeah, it's the code. BN was the code allocated to 618 Sqn had it formed between April and November 1939. I like my whiffs to be subtle these days. Anyone can whif up something with a flashy unit badge, something like this takes research and thinking.
