Quick question as I can't find the info anywhere, Can this be used with enamel paints..Such as Humbrol, Xtracolour, WEM. Phoenix ?

Rob

I think that this is a substitute for thinning oil paints which in days of yore were thinned with turps or white-spirit. I have used low odour thinners to thin Abteilung 501 oils for washes and streaking on space models, but it was the manufacturers own brand. The difference with this is that it is not quite as pungent so it is friendlier on the old nasal cavities and I am guessing will be better for the environment too. There is a similar product available called Zest It which is also used for thinning oils and has a smell of oranges so can be useful if you are getting some grief from 'her indoors' about the smell of paint around the place and should also give you a nice festive smell as Christmas approaches. :santa:

Anyway, forgive the ramblings of an ageing modeller and to get back to trying to answer your question, I think that this should be OK for thinning enamels because I have used both turps and white-spirit to thin those that I have used in the past. I guess that the only way to know for sure will be to try it out on some scrap sprue or a spare part that you may have lying around. HTH
