tonyot
Hiya Folks, Another bomber model built for the Bomber Command Group Build, this is the 1/72nd scale Academy Ventura Mk.II built as AE854, SB-J `Joybelle' of 464 Sqn RAAF, which was one of the 2 Group units equipped with the Ventura. I went to town on this one by using Aero Line resin engine nacelles plus a Pavla resin interior and tailplane while the mid upper turret came from a Revell Halifax and the canopy is a vacuformed Falcon item. The full build can be found here; http://www.britmodel...shed/?p=1764843 It was brush painted as usual and the main paints used were Polly Scale Dk.Earth, Dk.Green & Sky. Cheers Tony Edit,....added a few more pics at the request of Martin. I didn`t want to bore you all with too many pics!; Cheers Tony Edited November 18, 2014 by tonyot
modelling minion
That looks excellent. Nice to see a model of one of the often overlooked aircraft that helped to start to take the fight back to the Germans. Well done!
occa
I'd just wish you made one photo at least to show it like a real person would see it from the ground perspective. Fantastic build anyways, honestly the result is simply stunning. Cheers Martin

Michael louey
Really great Ventura Tony. I've always planned to build (and first buy) this kit but after seeing all the work you had to do, I have been taken aback and wonder whether I should just wait for a better kit.... tonyot
Thanks again folks,....glad you like it and cheers for saying so. Michael- Please don`t let me put you off building this kit,......I really went to town with the additional resin etc on this one just to see what it was like and as a bit of a treat to myself but I`ve built others which had no aftermarket stuff at all and I was still very happy with them so go on give it a go. Bill Bunting
Another Beauty Tony. And this time in 1/72, my preferred scale as I don't have brilliant and huge (but almost full?) cabinets like someone I know! I like it so much, I will pick one up the next time I see one and make the simple mods you indicate. Keep them coming! - You're a machine!. Cheers, Bill.. woody37
I can't decide whether I look of the Ventura or not, but love your model of one! Little improvements such as the sun blind make a big difference to the presentation of it, really brings it to life
