Paul A H
F-16CJ Block 50 Brassin Resin Accessories for Tamiya Kit 1:72 Eduard The production line at Tamiya has been churning out a slow but steady trickle of 1:72 kits in recent years. The Mitsubishi Zero was followed by the Ilyushin Il-2, and in turn the F-16CJ. Superb though the kit is, forty years of aftermarket production have taught us that there is always room for improvement. Enter Eduard, purveyors of resin goodies from central Europe.F-16CJ Block 50 Wheels for Tamiya Kit 1:72 Eduard These replacement resin wheels feature pin-sharp detail and excellent quality casting. Eduard have chosen not to cast flat spots on the tyres, but these can always be added to taste. In common with other resin wheel sets in their range, Eduard have included a set of specially designed pre-cut paint masks. Having used Eduards pre-cut masks on a number of occasions, I can vouch for their quality. All of the parts have been superbly manufactured. F-16CJ Block 50 Exhaust Nozzle for Tamiya Kit 1:72 Eduard This exhaust nozzle is designed as a direct replacement for the kit item, and it slots into place without any cutting or sawing required. You will need to cut the rear turbine face from the casting block, but that is all. Flame holders for the afterburner are provided on a photo etched fret of parts. As with the wheels, the resin parts are superbly detailed and cast and should look excellent once in place. F-16CJ Block 50 Ejection Seat for Tamiya Kit 1:72 Eduard This replacement ejection seat features the same excellent casting and sharp detail as the other two items above, but with the added bonus of photo etched parts to represent appropriate parts such as harnesses. The instructions are clear and concise and the item is as well packaged as ever. The finished article should enable you to do justice to an excellent kit. Conclusion Although Tamiya's F-16 is pretty near the top of the mountain as far as injection moulded kits go, there are nevertheless limitations to what can be achieved with injection moulded plastic. Eduard have recognised this and delivered a suite of nice upgrades that should please every modeller keen to make the most of this kit. Antoine
Thanks Paul. I hope that Ed will also think about the lack of underwing pylons and stores for this specific kit.
stevehnz
I believe that Tamiya have just released a version of this kit which does exactly that, all the underwing stuff missing in the first one. The one that I bought. Steve.
