Check the picture carefuly, you will find something quite uncommon there... Well, no need to worry, Standa did not forget to add a pilot into the cockpit. The letter U in this version designation indicates that this aircraft was a remotely controlled drone used for anti-aircraft artillery practice. I remember seeing a load of them outside the Fairey's hanger at Ringway (now Manchester Int. AP), must have been the late fifties resplendant in their cream and red. Firstly.I love the plane and would love to build some examples of the user of it and secondly,is the excellent boxart.My favourite is the one that depicts the mk.7.Simply fabulous! Blasphemy to some I know, but for those of us with less room, or a want to build a fair few of them, it makes more sense. Me??
