Navy Bird
A Hawker Hunter Mk.58 being flown by a civilian contractor for the US Navy crashed near Pt. Mugu, CA. The crash happened on October 29, as the plane was attempting to land at the Naval Air Station. The pilot was ex-military and was fatally wounded, the report stating that he was ejected. I don't know if this meant he was killed during ejection or something else. The plane was being flown as an "enemy" aircraft for US Navy combat training over the Pacific Ocean. http://newsmaine.net/21190-military-aircraft-hawker-hunter-mk58-crashes-pilot-declared-dead-scene http://www.berkshireeagle.com/nation/ci_26831063/pilot-identified-california-jet-crash http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2014/10/30/Military-pilot-killed-in-California-crash/9761414636707/ http://www.cbsnews.com/news/pilot-killed-in-navy-training-mission-crash-in-california/ http://www.vcstar.com/news/local-news/authorities-identify-pilot-killed-in-jet-crash-as-utah-man_07723104 R.I.P. and Godspeed!
