Navy Elephant
All, I have just taken delivery of the Alley Cat Gannet AEW MK 3 and a fine kit it is. However it does not come with the option to build it with folded wings. CMR have a Gannet wing fold kit for the Anti-Sub and COD version of the Gannet and in 1:72, would this be compatible? fatalbert
Afraid not,the wings on the anti sub and cod gannets are differant to the aew machine.I live in hope that Alley cat will release a wing fold for aew but am not holding my breath. Navy Elephant
OK, Alley Cat are reorganising the business so I am not holding my breath. Airwaves have an etched brass set, which the say is compatible with the AEW version. Opinions? Thanks for the speedy reply. Is the Airwaves etched brass set compatible (Hannants explanation seems to indicate it is compatible with the AEW version)?
Darby
Just build and enjoy! It's a Gannet!!!!
fatalbert
I think the difference is limited to the inner wings,( i could be wrong here),so maybe a bit of modifying could be the way to go. Driver66
I agree the difference is the leading edge on the inner wing.
Grizzly
I agree the difference is the leading edge on the inner wing. Leave the inner wing from the kit & put the outer wings from the fold set on it, The inner wing on the kit is about 2mm short ,the hard point should be on the edge of the inner wing not on the centre wing as per instructions.
