Bigmick
Hi all... This is the 1:48 scale version of the F4 Models light flight deck tractor 1940's - 1950's, in HMS Triumph scheme, the kit itself comprises 16 parts moulded in a soft grey resin, all parts are mounted lightly on their casting blocks, minimal work is needed to trim and sand the parts, you will need to source some 1mm wire or evergreen rod for the steering column and some .5 mil wire for the handbrake lever, gear lever, pedals and tow bar, gear lever knob was made by dipping the wire in CA, waiting for it to dry was possibly the longest part of this build, the whole thing took just over a day. Paint is Halfords grey primer then a couple of light coats of Tamiya TS-16 yellow gloss from a rattle can as a base, Tamiya XF-3 flat yellow airbrushed over that then sealed with brushed Humbrol Clear, Mig products dark wash added to the wheels wells prior to adding the wheels then multiple washes of thinned dark wash, the last being stippled on with a cotton bud. Hope you like. Regards Mick Edited October 30, 2014 by Bigmick
Edge
Love these. Got my eye on the 1/72 versions but they look awfully small!
Bigmick
I've got the 1970's deck tractor to build to go with a Buccaneer, yes, it's small, that's when the x3 magnifying glasses come out lol
