Either the BBC is missing something or I am

Hello all;

I came upon this article about the outgoing Bulgarian defense minister saying the country must replace it's old Soviet made gear in favour of western made equipment. Particular emphasis on air defense and getting rid of MiG-29s:

About halfway along, this line jumps out at me:

"Suggestions from outgoing Defence Minister Shalamanov that Bulgaria might buy used F-16s from Italy or Greece, or Eurofighters from Portugal....."

In fairness, it could be just as much a clueless minister as it could be lazy reporting or misquoting.

Still, Italy's retirement of the F-16 in 2012 was a well covered event and Portugal's absence from the user list of the Typhoon is well covered too.

Even if the minister was out of touch, I would hope someone who reports on military matters would be on the ball enough to ask some questions for clarity.

If nothing else, I got my daily dose of amusement, courtesy of the BBC, today
