Hello guys,new here.
I bought the Morris Mini last month or so and ive been working on it for awhile now. Also just to note, this is my first project EVER so i can't promise quality work. Also i was hoping to get a few tips here.

Ok so here are a few pictures of it so far.

So far the Engine is completely done. Im now at the brakes and..well...im not sure how to connect them to the engine bits.

So ya,if anyone knows how exactly to put them on,ill be thankful for the info. Like do i have to put glue (i use revell contacta) in the bits excluding the part that makes the tire spin and how do i actually make it turn 90 degrees?

EDIT: Nvm the brakes,i actually managed to figure it out lol after an hour or so.Now i can move both brake disks left and right

Ok so small update. I painted the Chassis and i learnt a lesson. I should seriously NOT use nail polish (or maybe it just wasnt my day) because its too thick and falls off easily. I covered up the nail polish on the floor panel with gun metal paint. Yes it does look a bit lighter, but that'll do for now.

Hi and Welcome to the Hobby !

Looks to me like you've made a great start with nice work so far and I'm glad you've managed to figure out the brakes and hub assembly .

I recently built the Tamiya Mini Cooper Racing and put pics etc of the build and the finished car on here .

Best thing to do is take your time trial fit all parts before gluing and sometimes painting and if you have any problems post on here there's lots of great people here with years of experience to help you .

Keep up the good work !

Mike .

Welcome aboard and to the hobby, nice choice for a first model. If I may reccommend Tamiya Aerosol paints for the body, white primed once you have sanded and polished the mould lines away. Buff the primer if neccessary and then two coats of your chosen colour for the finish. If you feel like a white roof, paint it separately to save you all that masking.

The Tamiya aerosols seem a litle expensive but with care, you should get two car bodies painted from one can. Five minutes in hot (Not boiling) water, boosts the pressuere in the can and makes the paint application better.

thanks guys. I actually do have a question. I got can of spray (ok my mom did but not that it matters) Olive green.I was considered whether the paint will ruin the chassis or not,i even consulted with the person at the Hobbyland store,he told me most paints nowadays are acrylic and there shouldnt be a problem, also mentioned he doesnt usually use Primer. Keep in mind he's been doing models since he was a kid (hes probably in his mid 30s atm). I also mentioned to him that ive been using nail polish for some parts in order to save up on cash because..well this is a budget build. I had no idea i'll need this many things in order to build it. And so far everything excluding the green on the engine is nail polish. I agree the coats in some places get thicker, but it does dry up quickly and i try taking off as much polish as i can so details can be easier seen.

Soo ya,i don't own an air brush and it's cheaper to buy a can of spray. Im also thinking of getting black and white for the next project which will be an ae86 Levin notchback
