Parabat Posted September 28, 2014 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Hi, this is the second Contacta I've had that the yellow plastic nozzle part has cracked/split. Anyone else had this happen? I have got in touch with Revell Germany to find out what they know about the issue. I haven't over tightened it as I've just got it about two months ago and haven't unscrewed it. Pete in Lincs Posted September 28, 2014 Share Posted September 28, 2014 I've used it for years and never had a problem. I always use a piece of wire down the tube as a stopper. Pretty much what happened with my old one. I used super glue to try and seal it, but it just kept cracking and splitting. Thought it was an isolated incident, but clearly not. I thought I had put something heavy on top of them while I was moving my stuff into the man cave but couldn't think what it could have been. I copied this thread and said others had the same problem and they replied that they will be sending this on to the design team to investigate and rectify the problem. I noticed this issue with a lot of the new bottles in the "branch" of Model Zone in Westfield, Shepherds Bush, London. They had maybe 15 of them in there a few months ago and most of them exhibited this issue. I can only assume it's a basic design flaw with the caps. Cheers. Chris. I have previously tried using superglue on the crack, but it cracks in other places then. The last one had a spiderweb of superglued cracks eventually.
