Dermo245
Hi all, Recently finished this for the Harrier II GB here on Britmodeller. You can read the full build log here And while I was really happy with it, I thought I could tell a small story with it too. So armed with some cardboard, glue and online research, I came up with this. I'll admit that it looks a little homemade/Blue Peter/rough around the edges but I think it all works together. And remembers one of the great war reporters, the late Brian Hanrahan. All the best, Dermot Edited December 15, 2014 by Dermo245
HL-10
I remember seeing that broadcast at the time. Impressive model, love the Sea Harrier, and you've done a great job on yours
goon
Great display. I remember the original broadcast being very powerful even as a twelve year old. It still gives me goosebumps!

Head in the clouds.
Like HL10, I too remember seeing that clip and was glad to see them all return, the Sea Harrier, what a plane and an excellent model of a loved plane. Gary.
Miggers
Said it before and I'll say it again: The man,his machine and Hanrahan - historical snapshot in time. That for me,is what it's all about. The SHar looks a perfect Falklands jet, grubby, well worked and constantly wet from the atrocious South Atlantic weather across the carrier decks. The style of your display base fits perfectly with a Corporate SHar too, quickly go together and sent on it's way. I love it.
eng
Excellent build, love the wear and tear on the jet, and the base is superb. I was 7 at the time and can clearly recall the original broadcast. Eng
Tomoshenko
Good job on that. Original. It literally does look as though its been in the wars, and I'm in accordance with the above posters, I remember that very broadcast as though it was yesterday. Nice tribute. Col.
A fine way to represent those icons of the Falklands War together. Well done Dermot.

phildagreek
Very nice & to join in, I would have have been 14 and still remember it, oddly enough that piece of film was on TV last night on Dave 24 or some other channel, it was about filming in dangerous places, made me shiver a little just hearing it again. Dermo245
Thanks for all your kind comments - it's really appreciated. And if you happen to be at Telford next week, the kit and dio will be on the IPMS Ireland Club table...along with great builds from my fellow Irish colleagues! Thanks again, Dermot Edited October 31, 2014 by Dermo245
Darby
Great depiction of the FRS1 and the immortal Hanrahan broadcast. I spent a lot of time in the South Atlantic last year and can vouch for the battering the weather provides free of charge
