Rickpadwick1801
Hi Everyone, Here is the first set of photos for this build including box art, unprimed sprues and primed parts. I will be starting painting tomorrow of the components. Anyway, I have learned a good lesson with this new build : If priming something complicated like this, that I should use a whole can of primer on the kit to make the kit is properly coated. Anyway here are the photos. Box art Unprimed Sprues Primed Parts Thanks for looking, another progress update tomorrow with the painting. Rickpadwick1801
You know rick that when you finish this one you will want to keep it to go with your webber one Shaun I would love to Shaun, but I can't do that because I've not paid for the kit. The person I'm doing it for has paid for the kit already and then sent it to me. I might have to get one for myself eventually, but I am definately going to take some pictures of the 2 kits together (sort of a team photo). All of the components of the car that have to be painted blue have been given a 1st coat of blue paint, I am going to look at them in the morning under natural light to see if they require a 2nd coat of blue paint. More progress photos tomorrow. Thanks for looking, Rick

Rickpadwick1801
Well after an almost 2 week hospital enforced break I have done about 20 mins worth of work tonight before feeling a bit worn out, but will try to do more tomorrow. I'm not sure if I have any updates to post from before I went into hospital but I will check tomorrow and post them with any work I get done tomorrow along with tonights little bit. Rickpadwick1801
Hi Everyone, Here is tonight's progress update. Stages 1 to 44 are now complete on this build and I have made a start on the decalling of the kit as I go along (only small ones). Stage 31 Stage 34 Stage 35 Stage 36 Stage 37 Stage 38 Stage 40 Stage 41 Stage 42 Stage 43 Stage 44 Thanks for looking. This amount of progress has taken me approximately 90 minutes spread out in short batches all day, for some reason after my hospital stay, I find myself unable to concentrate for periods longer than 30 minutes (I am going to ask about that at my follow up appointment tomorrow as otherwise its going to be difficult for me to do my job next week). More progress at some point over the next few days. Rick
Rickpadwick1801
Well I assembled the rear wing as it would have been at the Bahrain grand Prix yesterday, it all fitted to the car perfectly. Then tried to decal it this morning and the interior decals didn't take properly. I am now building the car for the German grand Prix, so have built the alternative rear wing and also drilled the air box for the extra wing that mounts to the side. I have also started work on the front wing. I will be posting photos at some point. Rick
Rickpadwick1801
Well the rear wing decals are going to be the last task on this kit. I am currently working on the assembly of the front wing (which is a very delicate task as pieces have to be glued directly over decals). I am also going to work on the wheels and tyres for the car so that they are ready to fit in place. I think that will be as much work as I will do today. Update will be posted later for today's work as well as last weeks work. Rick
Rickpadwick1801
Hi Everyone, Here is the update from last week's work. As I didn't do much work yesterday, I have not taken any photos of the progress from yesterday, but as soon as I do a bit more work, I will do and then post them. Anyway here are the photos. Car body with brakes etc German Grand Prix version rear wing Holes drilled for additional wing for German grand prix Front wing construction and decals stage 1 More progress photos to follow as soon as more work is done. I will be leaving the decals for the rear wing until the last minute for this build ensuring that all of the other decals are applied and construction is complete. Thanks for looking. Deegee13
I have enjoyed looking at this build. Are you going to spray clear coat on the model when decaled, to seal them in?
Rickpadwick1801
I have enjoyed looking at this build. Are you going to spray clear coat on the model when decaled, to seal them in? I haven't got any clear spray, I will probably wait till its all done and they have all set and very gently apply it with a brush. I didn't however apply any clear coat to my other RB-8 build and that looked great. See link below for photos of the completed build of that one. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234967438-revell-124-redbull-racing-rb8-mark-webber-australian-grand-prix-2013/ Thanks for looking. Rickpadwick1801
Well I have completed stages 1 to 55 now. The front wing is fully assembled and ready to fit to the cars body. With the exception of the rear wing and wheels, the main body of the car is very nearly complete. I will post a photo update later today as soon as I have installed the front wing.
