Mike
As the title suggests, what's the best kit to start from amongst Roden's range of B/C/D kits to convert it to a Fennec, which I understand was an A, but with a more powerful engine and some airframe changes? Then, once the kit is settled upon, what differences will I need implement from a modeller's POV between the base kit and the Fennec spec.? I saw a pair of them recently on the flight-line, and the sand camo one looked proper aggressive sat there. I fell in love with the horrible clattering engine note too All info gratefully received and will save me from making mistakes from the outset
russ c
Hi Mike, externally it`s pretty much a `B` so you could use either the `B` or `D` boxings to start with. The `D` boxing has extra weapons and pylons in the box but all the rest is the same. You just need to add a small air conditioning scoop on top of the nose. Don`t know about the interior though. Hope this helps a bit, Cheers Russ

PhilHoff
Hello, You'll find some infos about the interior and the weapons of the Fennec there: http://avions-de-la-guerre-d-algerie.over-blog.com/article-24140042.html Main differences with the T-28D are: No ventral airbrake on the Fennec Additional armour plates on the sides of the forward cockpit Additional air conditioning scoop (already mentioned by Russ) Anti-crash pylon behind the pilot Probably some differences in the cockpit The additional armour plates are visible on this picture: Source: http://fighters.forumactif.com/t57229-t-28-fennec-debut-peinture The Fennecs had two different canopies: Source: http://fighters.forumactif.com/t56878-sud-aviation-fennec?highlight=Fennec All operational Fennecs were silver, the camouflaged one is a modern warbird livery. Hope this helps Philippe

stringbag
Might be worth checking that the one you saw was an original Fennec as opposed to a true T-28 painted up. Chris.
Spad
The 2 (one camo, one silver) at Duxford on Sunday were described by the commentator as being genuine "warbirds" with an operational history having seen some action "against insurgents" Here they are - maybe these are the ones you saw Mike? Don't forget to post pics! ATB Rick
