This year I've been making a bit of an effort to get out and catch some Sea Kings before they are retired in a couple of years time. Fortunately I haven't had to travel far.

ZA166 seen here during a flypast over Bodmin Airfield last Sunday (7th Sep) I didn't know this was coming and nearly missed it:

Superb pics.

I never seem to have the camera to hand when we get low Sea Kings over practicing with the local Mountain Rescue.

Very inspiring.......now where did I put my Sweet Sea King??

Many thanks for the kind comments.

Last week staff at RNAS Culdrose celebrated 45 years since the oldest airworthy Sea Kings first flew. XV647, XV648 and XV649 first flew during September 1969 and are still flying at Culdrose.

Regards,

Pete

Some cracking shots there, I love the Sea King it really has a purposeful air about it.

The only successor of the Wessex and I'm sure the Merlin will prove as monstrous by the end of its career.

What fabulous photos! Thanks.
