gregax
Ok, I promise, this is going to be an easy build. My first helicopter (this time in my scale), and this one is a beauty. Don't knpw why, but this one really appeals to me. Italeri kit is nice, despite really soft panel lines, but I will throw in a full Eduard PE set and some minor scratch. Again, it might not be 100% accurate. Ok, some progress and PE work. Edited January 26, 2015 by gregax

Breaker
Nice PE work, can't see any adhesive at all! I know what you mean about Italeri and soft details, they just seem to do so many subjects in 1/48th no one else does !

heloman1
Nice start Greg, I hadn't seen the Eduard PE set for the Wessex, it looks like it might be worth investing in. Your seat looks very smart and if I may, a dot of white glue on the seat adjuster handle will give it the correct knob shape. You may want to look at my Wessex build elsewhere on BM. Pete in Lincs
There are a few Wessex experts on here. Probably a good idea to read the previous builds. For instance, A major fault on the Italeri model is that the transmission platforms have the wrong panel lines. (That's on the curvy bits above the cabin on your pictures) Italeri have them with straight edges whereas they should be curved. On the rear cabin bulkhead, On the left side, The oblong box shape should be the flare stowage. (At least on RAF HC 2's it was). Good luck Pete

abat
If ever the existence of PE needed to be justified, then your rendition of that cockpit seat would be ample proof of its value. Extraordinary work.

gregax
The saga continues. After painting, weathering and varnishing I've decided to make some bits and pieces missing in the kit. So, fire extinguisher and some bits and bobs were made from scratch. Now i hope to enclose everything without any major problems. Enjoy!

modelling minion
Excellent work, I too have a soft spot for the Wessex. I used to overhaul the engines and gearbox for them. I even have a manual for the airframe somewhere.
