Pawel Szczudlyk
Hello All! I would like to welcome you in my another wip. This time i will start doing Spitfire mkI Xc 1/48 from hasegawa.I was planing to start making different model but after seeing so many fantastic wip"s from you guys i had to start this one.I remember the spitfires done by Plastix,Dreamcather or Tango 1 with his great mh434 or Jbl wit his IXc and w was thinkng that its my turn now Ok so i have bought this model some time ago on the Duxford air show for 15 quid.Happy days! But when i opened the box decals was missing so i had to buy new one. Decals are from Techmod And I have use them before. I am going to do Spitfire SZ-G flown by this guy G/Cpt ALEKSANDER GABSZEWICZ 9½ confirmed kills, 1-1/3 probables, 3 damaged planes. Aleksander Gabszewicz was decorated with the Virtuti Militari Golden Cross, Virtuti Militari Silver Cross,Distinguished Flying Cross, Distinguished Service Order (with bar),Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta, and Cross of Valour(4x) And here is some info from wikipedia about him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksander_Gabszewicz I have start this build around 2 weeks ago but I have a lot of thing to do right now(work kids etc) so for now the progress will be slow. For now I have nearly finish the pit.I have paint interior using Humbroll 78 interior green. For me do the job.I will do this plane witho opened door so i have bought Eduard PE set and i hace done a oxygen hose. All i have to do right now is a wash and i can carry on...I think ok so that's all for now and wish me luck with this one Have a nice day Edited September 4, 2014 by sdk_uk

Marty
Love these kits, despite the 'short' fuselage, they look perfectly like a Mk.IX to me. Very buildable and typical Hasegawa quality. Looking forward to more updates

PlaStix
Wow! You have been busy! Sounds like your place should be looking really good by now! And getting a workshop - now I am envious! I usually do most of my kit building on part of the kitchen counter . I look forward to seeing more of your Spitfire once you have all the work done! Don't take too long! Kind regards, Stix

phildagreek
Looks good! I like it when someone builds a particular aircraft and can link it to the pilot at a particular time.
Pawel Szczudlyk
Hi guys I have nearly finished my home refurbish and my work bench is almost ready as well so I resume work on my spitfire today. I did not do much but I have joined fuselage half's together and put the pit in the middle. I have start work on the wings so I think that I will put them together tomorrow maybe Saturday. Now I need to buy a spray booth coz I don't want to do a mess at my new wor place. Any suggestions? ?? Regards Paweł
PlaStix
Hi sdk_uk. Glad to see this is back on the (new) workbench! Cockpit detail looks great! I'm afraid I cannot advise on the spray booth as I only use the hairy sticks! When I spray rattle-can varnish I have to take a trip down to the shed! Looking forward to seeing more progress on this. Kind regards, Stix

Pawel Szczudlyk
Hi guys I have done some work today. My spitfire is ready for priming now. I am so happy coz Hasegawa did great kit. I does not have use putty at all. Maybe a little bit but that was probably my fault. Now I need to mask the pit and I can turn on my airbrush ps I love the line of a spitfire
Pawel Szczudlyk
Hi guys. The spitfire has been sanded and the coat of primer has been added. I have done a pre shading as well but I had to use a brusch coz my compressor plaing up a bit. And I think it looks better than when I am using airbrush. Soon painting time Cheers
PlaStix
Hi sdk_uk. Excellent progress again - you seem to be really moving at a pace with this one! Lovely stuff! I am a bit concerned though - I'm not sure you've got the right pilots for this Mark of Spitfire. I'm pretty sure the orange jumpsuits came in later... and you seem to have two of them? Pawel Szczudlyk
Hi guys it's friday and after work i have found some time for painting my spit. The bottom side is done and masked. After that i start to do the top one. First 4 coats of humbrol ocean grey.Tomorrow i will start making dark green patches. But i have a problem with Humbroll paint wich is after painting the surfaces is not smooth its like grainish?! I am mixing paint with thinners but that don't change nothing.I am thinking to change my paint to Valejjo model air. Ok have a nice day all.
