Julien
Short S.27. This S27 is a replica based on the 1910 Short Brothers original and is not airworthy. It was built in the 1970s from plans drawn up by the Director of the Museum. The project was instigated by Lord Mountbatten, who had been flown in an original S27 in 1912 by Charles Samson. No original S.27 airframes are known to exist. this is displayed at The Fleet Air Arm Museum as the S.27 was linked to a number of firsts for the Royal Navy.
