DaveJL
Hello all, Here is my recently finished 1/35 Accurate Armour Jackal 2 SRV, depicted as part of a 3 PARA Fire Support Group in Afghanistan in 2011. Built as part of my Op Herrick tribute, which you can find here All the extra kit (bar a few bits and pieces) is from Accurate Armour, as are the weapons (2x L85A2 and 1x L129A1) and figures. The base is custom made (not by myself), the PARA badge was given to me years ago by a colleague of my Fathers', the MTP patch was donated by Parabat and the ISAF patch was donated by Warris. Thanks chaps. The MTP paint was a challenge as I've never really built 1/35 figures before. The paint was built up in layers, as described in the build thread. All parts of the project together: Comments welcome, thanks for looking. Dave

SeanM
Oh, that's nice. The Jackal looks great and love all the detail & stowage. Figures uniforms are very good: hard to believe it's your first ones. And the base/wings/badges are a lovely setting
Parabat
Nice work Dave, looks great, the weathering/dust is very convincing. Very good!

tonyot
Looks very nice, but could I just say that the metal badge is the Parachute Regiment cap badge and not Para Wings! Para wings are made from cloth and worn on the shoulder by all parachute trained troops whichever regiment and corps they serve with, apart from the SAS who have their own wings. The cap badge is worn on the maroon beret. Also,.....the bare helmet should be dark green (unless they have recently changed to sand?) and I would think that most troops in theatre,....especially Para`s,... would have a camouflaged cloth cover on it,.....in fact most Para`s also wear a net over the cloth cover. Sorry to be picky,.....it is still a fine looking model and I like your collection so far,....especially the Herk,...but then again I am biased! Cheers Tony
DaveJL
Thanks for the info, post has been edited. Painted the helmet as per AA's instructions. A few para reg members on here haven't mentioned the helmet so happy to leave it as it is. Dave
Roland Pulfrew
Like the build. And the base - very realistic representation of the Helmand desert.
