Graeme
Although I didn't have time to get a picture, there was a gold-plated Bugatti Veyron parked in the front car-park at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Wednesday of this week...obviously over here as part of the 'arab summer'. And it was definitely plated, not painted. Nice to be able to flaunt your wealth in such a classy manner!
cmatthewbacon
...it's probably a "wrap"... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2347388/Flo-Ridas-gold-Bugatti-Rapper-spares-expense-gives-1-7m-car-garish-makeover.html http://www.autogespot.co.uk/golden-wrap-on-a-bugatti-veyron-164-in-tokyo everybody's doing it, it seems! So the owner is not only classy, but a tribute artist, as well... ;-P bestest, M.

roymattblack
It probably belongs to the new owner of Harrods. It was parked all afternoon on double yellow lines outside the front doors of the shop, behind a black velvet covered Ferrari about 6 months ago. Neither car got a parking ticket................. Speaking of wraps....... Roy. Edited August 29, 2014 by roymattblack
cmatthewbacon
Black velvet, eh? I bet that throws the thousands of hours of aerodynamic modelling using the F1 team's kit that Ferrari's aerodynamicists do off just a tad... Mind you, it's no worse than guys who weigh 110kgs speccing the €12,000 exhaust that shaves 3.6kg off the weight instead of just eating a bit less... ;-P bestest, M.

Sgt.Squarehead
In a word 'Crass'.....It's a Bugatti Veyron for crying out loud, why would you need to gold plate it to make it special?

Raystorm
I work in marine satellite communications - you should have seen the yacht I visited in Ibiza last month that belongs to some arab prince. It was GIGANTIC, and had so much room that they put me up onboard overnight! This is the beast: It's a world of wealth that we can't even begin to comprehend! pigsty
Nothing you can do to a Veyron can improve its looks. It's beyond saving. If it had a forty-foot high handle at the back, we'd all be thinking "it beats as it sweeps as it cleans". Talking of wraps, I occasionally see a Smart in London that's covered with Astroturf. Bugadifino why.

That gold Bugatti Veyron was at the Dorchester last year, along with a migraine inducing metallic purple Lamborgini Reventon with flourescent/reflective stripes. P Diddy and Tron are at it again...
Giorgio N
Reminds me of the gold plated De Loreans. Can't remember if this was an option or what, but I know that 3 were made
