Blastvader
Hello all. Just a quick one really. I've seen a few references on the interwebs to thinning putties with nail-polish remover to make them more managable. Now, I'm currently using Revell Plasto as I happen to have found two unopened tubes of it when I returned to modelling and I'm wondering if this technique works with that product, and if not, what does (if anything)? I couldn't really find a concrete answer anywhere else, just a lot of references to Squadron Putty and a few people asking the same question as myself without recieving much of an answer. Also, my Google 'fu is weak. Any help greatly appreciated as this stuff's driving me round the bend. Cheers, Paul (with Plasto all over his fingers, applicator, walls and unborn child but nowt on his models) Edited July 31, 2014 by Blastvader
Nigel Heath
I don't know about Revell Plasto but I have transferred tired Squadron putty to a small jar and revived it by adding cellulose thinners. There is no need to mix it, the solvent just works its way into the filler. It worked a treat and now I prefer using it from the jar rather than a tube. sroubos
This works fine with Tamiya putty. Plasto is a bit weird as it always used to separate for me into a white and a clear liquid, but I wouldn't be surprised if it works.
Black Knight
I use Revell glue to thin Plasto, and Humbrol fillers.
Blastvader
Thanks guys. I'll have to give the glue thing a go as I'm finding it a real pain to work with as is.
