Ps.Kpdw. VI Ausf.B Tiger II Upgrade Set (for Eduard)

Eduard's new boxing of the Academy King Tiger now has a small update that adds details to kit, or improves on the kit parts. It consists of a single fret of Photo-Etch (PE) brass measuring 7cm x 10.1cm, and is used all over the hull. At the rear is a set of brackets for the track-splitter tools on the aft bulkhead, fuel-tank overflows, and stand-off armour for the four intake vents, for which you'll need some small lengths of 0.6mm rod to provide the correct 1.5mm stand-off for the panels. On the sides of the hull the pioneer tools, barrel cleaning rods and towing cables are overhauled with new retaining straps, plus a new bracket for the fire extinguisher. At the front, the headlamp bracket is given a wedge-shaped stabilising bracket under the main part, and a three-part rotating blind for the slit on the headlamp cover.

Moving onto the turret, each vision block on the commander's cupola is fitted with a bracket, which will just be visible when the armoured cover goes over the top. A sighting device is added to the front block, with a bracket and L-shaped wire (you provide the 0.5mm wire) on the roof of the turret a short distance in front of the cupola. Additional brackets and hinges are added to the turret top, as well as padlocks and their brackets for the two hatches. Inside the gunner's hatch, some moulded-in detail is removed, and replaced by PE parts for additional detail, with a winding handle and hinge-guide bracket also added. The sloping sides have pairs of brackets added fore and aft, with a gaggle of five welded hoops added at the mid-point, which is repeated on the other side. On the rear access door, a set of four hinge-points are added on which an inner panel is fitted, with a length of PE chain attached to the pistol port, which saves it from getting lost after use in the real thing.

Conclusion
A neat little upgrade to your kit, that addresses the usual blocky attachment points around the hull, and adds some interesting additional parts where it matters.

Recommended.
