Star wars leak from Frankfurt?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the link, Graham.

Also see Death Star over San Francisco.

I found it on Hyperscale.

I just binned my Firefox as it was full of bugs & Ads.

Now back on IE & I find I cannot copy & paste on here,

Yet I can to word documents. Weird.

No doubt I'll figure it out eventually.

What you'll need to figure out is that Firefox is a good browser, and you need to de-infest it by running your AV, malware detector, or just do a fresh install. Ads, toolbars and so forth all manage to install themselves on your browser by you clicking ok when you should be reading what's on screen. You inadvertently give permission, and can usually opt out of their "valuable" additional offers at the time of install.

Niall helpfully gives instructions on how to post using IE here (post 4) http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234964244-unable-to-paste/

It really is worth the effort of sorting your FF, as IE is a pest. Most of the "How do I?" or "My xxx used to work, but now it doesn't?" questions are traced back to people using IE, so we recommend that people don't use it. If a modern browser can't even parse a reasonably modern website like ours, that tells you a lot about the people that wrote the code. I suspect that MS still thinks it can mould the internet standards to suit its needs, but their days of massive marketshare have long gone, eroded away by Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Safari (mostly on the Mac as that gains ground). IE is now one of dozens of browsers, and ignoring implementation of ratified internet standards to force others to tow your line just isn't feasible for them anymore. They need to wake up and provide what the users want and need, not what they think they should want. :fraidnot:

Anti-IE rant over :D

I think there was an invite in my emails

to download the latest firefox from there.

I must get around to it instead of idly

modelling in the other room.

BTW, When I'd deleted the old firefox,

I went to IE & had to sit & wonder what

my Britmodeller login & password were.

It had previously just popped up on FF. Doh!

 it's a pain when you have to re-remember passwords for places after a long time.

It sounds like you've been the victim of a phishing scam, so I'd make a concerted effort to both scan your computer thoroughly for viruses, malware and trojans, as well as changing all your passwords once you've cleaned your computer of greeblies. :ninja:
