Tamiya StuG IV

got back into scalemodels after reading a thread on another forum, bought a late prod Tiger 1 but have decided to some <£15 models from amazon first to get used to construction again and airbrushing , started with a stug IV the main body is built and painted i keep putting off doing the schurzen as i want to try and paint it with a disc pattern

Nice StuG. I'd just paint that staple joining the tracks to make it less visible.

It's a good idea to practise on the cheapy models. The StuG IV seems a popular choice on Britmodeller.

Watch where it ends though, as I've got a stash of Dragon kits which I can't be bothered making as the Tamiya jobs are so much easier to build. The later ones are pretty accurate too.

The old method is using a heated screwdriver to carefully melt the locating pins once the track is joined. But as you say, once the skirts are on you won't notice the staples.
