Seafire
I'm planning on trying some mica pigments for model cars and I wanted to know if there are some clear mediums, such as a varnish of some sort. I'm afraid of using Pledge/Future because of it either drying up inside and ruining the AB or having to clean it with ammonia window cleaning fluid and it corroding the AB parts. It has to be clear so it doesn't interfere with the color and color appearance inside the cup.
Black Knight
Klear will harden up in your AB but you don't need ammonia for cleaning it. I've used Methylated Spirits [wood alcohol] and Cellulose Thinners, [aka Lacquer thinners] with out doing any harm to any of my AB Some might advise you to use Alclad varnish which, according to others, for I've never used it, is very good. Seafire
Thank you for your reply. Now how exactly would I go about using them? I know how to mix, etc. but do you put it over the paint or do you use them as straight paint?
