weemanreturns
Hi Folks, Anyone got ideas if it is possible to convert a 1/144 767-300 to a 767-200. I want to build a representation of an Excel Airways aircraft I flew to Rhodes on. The only 767-200 I can find is by Hasegawa , but that is 1/200 scale which I do not want. pinky coffeeboat
Of course it is. The -300 was a stretch of the -200. Search on this forum as the question was asked recently. I think you need to remove 21.1mm forward of the wing, 23.3mm aft; and remove the tail bumper which wasn't required on the shorter body -200. Check this site http://airliner-models.org/forum/topic/2809-konversija-boeing-767-300-v-767-200/page__hl__767-200 - there is a set of drawings that show the dimensions of the -200. Welsh models also do a vac form fuselage conversion for the 767-200. Jeff Edited July 19, 2014 by pinky coffeeboat

RICHW
Hi i already have one done i have copied the link to the post i put on this forum i found this the cheapest way to convert it if you want some of the tube i used to rejoin the fuselage i can get hold of some for you http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234909605-boeing-767-200-conversion/?hl=%2Bboeing+%2B767-300+%2B767-200+%2Bconversion Richard
pinky coffeeboat
Or you could just use some of the scrap plastic that was removed when you shortened the fuselage. Try to stagger the cuts in each fuselage half, that way there is some support from the other half when you join them together. Jeff
weemanreturns
Well, I am flabergasted !!!! Thanks to you all who took the time to reply. Your help and advice is invaluable. I think I have enough info to proceed with my quest. All I need to find now is where I can obtain 1/144 Excel Airways decals, and also Condor Thomson as well. I built a Hasegawa 1/200 Boeing 767 and had to 'hand paint' the markings, and I would prefer a decal source. I will have to resort to hand painting if there is nothing else out there. weemanreturns
Hi Richard. I may have to 'hang fire' with the 'Condor' livery. We are going on holiday at the end of August, and are scheduled to fly in a Condor Thomson Boeing 757-300. But I have checked out Thomson on 'Wilkipaedia' and it says the airline is replacing the 757 with the Airbus 320 from 2012 (?), so I cannot now be certain of the aircraft. I will let you know in due course. Thanks for your help and comments. Regards. Andy
