Flankerman
Su-27KUB and Su-33UB are one and the same thing. The original 'Sea Flanker' was designated Su-27K (for Korabl - meaning 'Shipborne') by the Russian MOD - but Sukhoi's PR department insisted on calling it the Su-33. Sukhoi eventually won the argument - so 'Su-33' already means 'shipborne' (the K is implied). When the Su-27KUB (Korabl, Uchebno Boyevoy - Shipborne Combat Trainer) came along, Sukhoi insisted it was Su-33UB to 'match' the Su-33 designation. Can't wait for the kit though - I hope they get it right. Ken
