dfqweofekwpeweiop4
Spotted this on Hannants website earlier today. EDK1192 'Danger Zone' It states the plastic is Hobby Boss with added Eduard resin, etch and mask plus Cartograf decals for 5 aircraft. Price £79.00 It doesn't say what aircraft it is but I'm guessing the Danger Zone reference is from the film Top Gun and also the fact that Hobby Boss do F-14 kits. Also spotted is EDK1189 Lavochkin dual combo. Contains plastic parts by Zvezda for the La-5FN and by Gavia for the La-7. Plus Eduard resin, etch, mask and Cartograf decals for Czech AF La-5FN/7's. Plus a book on the history of Lavochkins in Czech service. Price £41.00 If anyone gets any further info, please update this thread! thanks Mike PS Hannants have now confirmed it's the F-14A Tomcat. Truro Model Builder
When I saw the title for this thread, I thought that it was a dual combo of an F-14 and a Lavochkin. I would have liked to see the connection between those two.

Parabat
Very nice options, a shame that the seats have the ribbed cushions and not the more commonly seen 'waffle' covers. Only Verlinden got this right.
Robert
Wonder who is designing the decals. If it Furball Aero Design then no problem but I would wait and see. Robert

Shar2
Very nice. I've always loved the Tomcat, but can you get decals for either VF-101 or VF-102 as they hosted us when we dropped into Oceana with our SHARs and I would love to build one of their aircraft. FCM do a 2004 F-14A/D VF101 set off the top of my head. I think Superscale or Microscale do a F-14A VF-102 set, I know Fightertown have an awesome F-14B OEF set. Calum
Pity they have done the exhausts both Open. I think when the aircraft is at rest one exhaust is open, and one is closed. That's a deal breaker for me. Pity because I like the Sundowners decal option
hopkp
As far as I know, the exhausts on F-14As when at rest could be either open or closed. While it would not be unusual to see one open and one closed, both open would also be a common configuration.
Giorgio N
Actually having one exhaust closed and the other open is the most common configuration when a TF30 powered Tomcat is on the ground with engines off. This is a result of the engines shutdown procedure. The exhausts are open when the aircraft is taxiing to prevent excessive thrust and this is commanded by a switch on the landing gear. At the same time there's a safety system that in case of loss of electric power closes the nozzles, nozzles that are hydraulically actuated with power coming from the same engine. When the aircraft is coming to a stop on the ground, one engine is usually shut down first. At that point the relative nozzle will stay open (condition is aircraft on ground, as told by the switch on the gear). The engine stops and hydraulic pressure bleeds. When the second engine is shut down, its nozzle will receive a signal of loss of electric power and the hydraulic pressure remaining during the engine wind-down will tend to close its nozzle.
