activexp
This is my attempt to build the ICM (a name that's new to me) Soviet WWII multiple rocket launcher BM-13-16N The axles, diffs and drive shafts are a single moulding so no problem getting everything lined up. The chassis was problematic, warped parts. The cross-members needed some work to fit properly. Some additional mounting slots had to be manually cut out of the main beams. It's difficult to measure a slot 3.2mm long! The cab gave me a lot of grief. The floor pan was warped and refused to untwist. This caused misalignment of the back panel and the cab roof. Eventually I managed to get it true by forcing the parts together until the glue had thoroughly set. Later I found that the top of the door window frames don't fit as the roof is a little too low. Oh well, I'll probably find a way of bodging it. I assumed that the decal for the instrument panel was a single transfer so it came as quite a surprise to find that when I attempted to slide the decal in place, the 5 tiny black discs representing the gauges became separated into individual parts and ended up in random and unsuitable positions. beefy66
This looks as though it will interesting to follow and your doing a good job even with your current problems. Beefy
activexp
A little more progress..... Cab completed apart from wing mirrors which are too fragile to fit at this stage. I debated about leaving the doors open but decided against it - they'd only get broken off. The paint job looks a bit rough at this stage but I'm sure I can improve it. The completed front end mounted on the chassis. No problems here. It all lined up nicely. Back of the cab with storage boxes and fuel tank fitted. The support frame for the rocket rails and base plate. The frame went together without too many problems, just rather fiddly to get it all lined up and square. The next step is the assembly of the rocket rails. Not looking forward to it as there are many warped parts and the whole thing looks flimsy. To be continued........... activexp
Part 3..... Rocket rails completed, not an easy task owing to the bent parts but it turned out reasonably OK in the end. Rockets installed and the launching rails mounted on the support frame. Next step is mounting the assembly on the chassis. To be continued............
