P 47 D Bubbletop Capt fred Chistensen 56 Fighter Group

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon

I would like to participate this Gb with a P 47 Bubbletop Tamiya representing the aircraft flown by Capt Fred Christensen which scored 21,5 victories while he served with the 56 Fighter Group http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_J._Christensen , he shot down an FW 190 near Evreux Airdrome on july 5th ..

I will use Lifelike decals to get this

As usual I started with the cockpit painted green Humbrol 150 with some white and red spots black instruments and panels

I changed the seat for a Pavla one that I prefer ..

Nice. I done the same subject to 48th and used the Hasegawa kit with Life Like decals, But never really completed the decalling because of the nose art on the cowling. Much debate whether it should have a pale blue back gound or yellow; but yellow it is as a colour pic of not good quality exists and can be seen on Little friends website somewhere.
