Those bulges on the lower wing panel

are to clear the oversize 'Rough field'

Tyres fitted to Aussie machines.

I don't know if the IAC aircraft have them,

Saudi ones certainly don't.

The tyres on that Thai machine look normal too.

I was hoping Ozmods would produce the 1/48th version.

I have an unbuilt 1/72nd aeroclub kit.

In this scale the fuselage is 123mm (4 7/8th inches) long.

Interesting subject, but I have to say, the plastic looks a mite...rough.

I was thinking to get one of these but it looks very agricultural molding - are those sprues half an inch thick? Are there any other 1/72 or 1/48 models of this airplane?

Think this is a must have for me (In particular the Myanmar colors) as well as the other boxing in Thai colors, the plastic looks a 'bit of a challenge' but, that's half the fun of modelling for me.

Well done Ozmod's for this release !

Back in stock today, and due to ever-increasing demand, is our PC-9 kit OMKIT 7202. Seems many modellers just cannot resist the RAAF FACs and the RAF/BAe Systems aircraft.
Will get it on the OzMod's website today.

  • Homebee changed the title to 1/72 - Pilatus PC-9 by OzMods - reissue

Roulettes livery is a nice choice. I may end up buying one of those finally. Have been looking at this and 3D Blitz PC-21 kits for years but never bought any of these... Still interesting if civilian colourful option become available eventually. Also there are some interesting camouflage schemes like Oman or Slovenia. And also bright Croatian display team.

I reckon they could sell quite a few on this side of the ditch if they did one with the bits for a Texan II like we run. I'm tempted to get one & try this anyway.

Steve.

As I understand it's quite a lot of changes. Different tail, dorsal fin, also I believe cockpit layout differs. Texan II has mk.16 ejection seat instead of mk.11. Canopy is different. Good news is that engine is similar so probably fuselage would not require replacement. And I do not know about the wing. At the same time I read it's only tyres that could be cross replaced between PC-9 and T-6.

Still if fuselage and wing are the same for the scale - then it's not a lot of new bits.
