Lumpy
Do you mind if I sit next to Tom? The daughter and son in law gave me the King Tiger model by the same company and I've never worked with them before. I notice this one has the individual track links. Mine came with vinyl ones that look like rubber bands! Regards, Steve.

robw_uk
cheers all - tracks done, now on to fenders... really hope to get some more done tonight and photographs up... been looking at images for inspiration - think I am adding some spare tracks and maybe a jerry can rack.... found a photo of one with cans on the fender so might look to replicate..... anyone know if the BeoB variant was much modified (am going with "they operate fairly remote so needed to have a little bit of self-support"

Stesca
Doing a nice job on this, the panzer 111 and IV are my favourite WW2 German tanks.
robw_uk
cheers both... no work on it last night (Silent Witness) but been doing some research... had found a great photo of a rear mounted oil drum BUT the aerial of the BEOB is in the way ... also found one with oil can rack mounted on the right fender (3/4 cans & a spare wheel) which I will do (using the cans form the figure set that came with the kit).. also going to mount extra track on some of the front surfaces, maybe some stowage on the engine deck (saw another photo with fully laden engine deck including dining chairs!!!).... will just have to see
robw_uk
got a couple of hours in last night - worked on some additional bits as well as adding OOTB tools on the fenders.... P1290001 by Rob Worth, on Flickr P1290004 by Rob Worth, on Flickr P1290003 by Rob Worth, on Flickr the rest "should" be straight forward OOTB additions - dont think I will do much more scratch addition (wondered about a 3rd spare wheel mounted on the turret for example but no evidence that was done on any marque of Pz III (I do look for things the crews did on the version - maybe not the exact model but "yes someone did add this to a Panzer III at some point")
robw_uk
basic camouflage scheme on - still getting splatter but not as bad as the half-track i did last year.;... some chipping done - the chipping of the green was done with the MiG scratch effect fluid - think I over applied it in parts (or didn't let the paint dry enough) as still getting it coming off in chunks.... will do some more work on smaller chips, adding the decals (all 3 of them) and then contemplate the snow scheme - thinking hastily applied by brush in lines (as seen on a couple of photos of Pz IIIs) P2050002 by Rob Worth, on Flickr P2050003 by Rob Worth, on Flickr P2050004 by Rob Worth, on Flickr P2050005 by Rob Worth, on Flickr

Matt182
Nice work Rob, very well built and I like the little extras on the fender. I can see what you mean about the minor splatter but it dosen't detract from a good camo job. It will look very nice once a few washes are applied. What paints / thinner are you using? You usually get a small amout of splatter like that because the paint is slightly too thick or the spraying pressure is off.
robw_uk
cheers Matt (and judicious application of winter camo will cover the rest ;-)) used lifecolor (unthinned this time - which worked OK for the base coat but obviously not for the camo - thinned it for the half track I did last year and it was actually worse (runs) - pressure was about 20 PSI) - wondering if the needle on my AB is slightly damaaged.... robw_uk
cheers Matt - the white wash may be more blocks - like applied roughly with a paint brush... have some photos of the on Pz III - something different to all over neat sprayed....
