Robinsons bookshop, Newcastle

Bad news for those of us who live in, or visit, the Tyneside area and know Robinson's in the Grainger Market, where remaindered aircraft books can sometimes be found. It's been flagged up on a local discussion forum that the shop's been shut for the last couple of days, and someone has just posted the official notification that the business has been wound up. I can't say I'm entirely surprised. I only go up to Tyneside now to visit family, which means I have a very narrow window to fit anything else in - on a couple of occasions recently, I've dropped into the market before half past four and found the shop had already closed for the day. Yet another bookshop gone: I'd been a customer there for 40 years, and picked up Duncan Curtis' book on the Canadair Sabre for £8 just a few weeks ago.
