Brad Cancian
Hi all, Haven't posted here in a very long time..... not having finished too much this year, I thought I would give the new Airfix 1/72 Tiger Moth a go over the long weekend here in Australia. This one is built straight out of the box, with the only additions being some seat belts made from masking tape, and some rigging, which is fine elastic. I went with a very simple paint scheme for an Australian registered Tiger Moth. I have no particular affiliation with this aeroplane, I just liked the simple paint scheme. The small registration decals were made on my printer at home. This was my first time trying Alclads, which I used for the cowling. I am now a convert. I also quickly added some 'dirt and grass' and a label to a pre-made base to sit the model on too. All in all this build took me just under four days from start to finish (including the base). The kit is a beauty and falls together. I had very little trouble with fit or with the upper wing attachment. She ain't perfect, but it felt good to get something finished. All comments, criticisms and feedback welcomed! Cheers, BC

Rabbit Leader
I'll catch up with you soon enough and once again.... Bow to the modelling maestro... Congratulations on another supurb bi-plane build. I've just remembered, wasn't this kit supposed to be my rigging education test piece? Cheers .. geedubelyer
She's a little beauty Brad. Thanks for sharing her here. I like the ribbing effect that you've created. The prop laminations must have taken alot of patience. It makes my eyes ache just thinking about how tiny they must be. I look forward to your next offering. It's always a pleasure to see your work. Cheers.
Albeback52
Well, I have to admit that the Tiger Moth is a type in which I have absolutely ZERO interest. After all, it's not even a PROPER aeroplane is it!! ( cue - cries of "Heretic, burn him on the pyres of Smithfield!) BUT after seeing this lovely little model I decided I might try a couple myself!! Very well done Brad. Allan ( The Tiggie convert!) ps - might even build a Spitfire next!! Stranger things have happened! Viking
Gorgeous Tiggie! I agree that a simple paint scheme can often look more attractive than a complex one. I've just started building one of these for fun, and I'm liking yours enough to get another one to do the same, Cheers John
