Hey rick it's zero paint premixed clear and the car was mainly put together so it is in the main big pieces so the nose cone, engine cover etc, painted, decalled, cleared then polished

Hugh you were correct i did have 2 on the go, the other being the f2007, but no longer as i didn't like the colour tone of it so it has been soaked in brake fluid and will be started again at a later date.

And my polishing method is pretty simple, i brought a micro mesh kit and once the final coat of clear was fully dry i started at a 4000 grade and worked up through to the 12000 at all times keeping wet and only in small circles, i have seen others doing diagonal strokes one way then the opposite way in straight lines through the grades but this seem counter intuitive for me so small circles is the best way for me, after i have finished with the mesh sheets i wipe it off very lightly with a micro fibre cloth the put zero paint wax polish on and wipe it off about 10-15 minutes later with zeros polish cloths and to be honest most of the time now the whole car doesn't need it as zero paints clear is so good at self leveling that it only really needs it on any little specs of dust that settle on it while drying. Anyway hope this helps if not don't worry

Right now to the car its mainly been going through the final stages of the build now so the front suspension is on and the wheels and tyres have been finished, the steering wheel is being decaled as i write this.

Really this will be finished by friday so hopefully all that see this will vote in my poll for the next car for me to do just as i really can decide anymore

Thanks for looking

Shaun

Thanks for divulging your polishing techniques earlier the effort taken is impressive, I just give it 3 coats of Humbrol acrylic varnish and hope for the best. Will try and use your methods on my M23.

The weathering looks great, I do prefer the raced look and used it on my first post on BM, a Renault R23 that ended up to heavy. Did you use the sponge technique on the barge boards?

Apologies for third post in as many days, I'm not stalking, promise.

Regards

John

It's no worries John and no all the tyre debris bits were done with a mix of blacks and a touch of flat brown mixed up and shot from the airbrush on a really low pressure and with regards to the clear coats i used to be the same until i joined on here and saw how well others projects are and it was only in January this year i converted to airbrushing but i do still used rattle cans from time to time it just depends on the complexity of the finish i want as Tamiyas spray colours do polish up very well once fully dry
