PlaStix
Hey I get to go first on a thread that's not mine! - see Mike's reply below for details.Nice idea for a project. Will watch with interest. Edited May 15, 2014 by snapper_city
chrisrope
Nice kit, got one ongoing myself Watch the canopy fit if its anything like mine. It wasn't quite the right shape and needed some swearing at, sanding and re-polishing I also had to use an Eduard paint mask as the frame lines are virtually non-existant on it Other than that its gone together really well Ta Chris

Mike
Time codes are a bit stuffed up on this thread due to a bit of a hiccup earlier, so just imagine Steve's post came first
Dazzio
Oo the P-51B, I think this is better looking than the D version for some reason. I built this and the... Malcolm hood (is that right?) version for the Battle of the Third Reich GB. Loved building it, but I didn't have any trouble with the canopies tho. They where tight but they fitted?? Will watch with interest, you'll have fun building this beauty Kind Regards Dazz
Pawel Szczudlyk
hello what a nice subject. I have done the same one some time ago. I did not post any pictures because of canopy fitting problem and propeller(but the prop is my fault) This kit is brilliant comes together like lego blocks so enjoy the build and I will be watching. o amd antenna mast was broke by my 3 yo this model is on shelf of doom waiting for new prop and antenna mast

PlaStix
Your standard of build always looks good to me. And I agree the detail in the cockpit does look good too.

stevej60
Not a lot of modelling done for a few days and unlikely for the rest of the weekend!here,s progress to date. The wing to fuselage join is superb it clicks into place beautifully, just a run of liquid poly in the upper wing joint but a nasty seam along the top of the cowling to deal with.
stevej60
Hi folks very little modelling done this weekend but got the underside colour on also using it as a primer for the rest of the airframe.Very impressed with these Humbrol acrylics they tend to dry slightly satin but lovely smooth finish, thanks for looking.

stevehnz
These are a favourite kit of mine, for all their faults, real & imagined, they go together well & make up into a thoroughly decent P-51B imho. I made one of these, albeit a different boxing, with my youngest as my get back into modelling build & it went pretty well considering the lack of care taken with it, just watch the undercarriage, if you're not real careful, it'll attach itself the wrong way around. stevej60
Progress to date on this one: same as my other Mustang build upper surface grey sprayed then in this case three thinned coats of green brushed on needs a touch up here and there but otherwise I,m pleased with the result that,s it now till Monday thanks for looking.

stevej60
A bi-product of working my shifts means the odd sleepless night so a bit more done on all three present entries, drop tanks added and under carraige progress on both Mustangs, the Revell tanks are far superior to Airfix,s offering, thanks for looking in.
stevej60
Last post of today, same as other Mustang glossed and mostly decaled, dreading the canopy as it is a very poor fit at first glance so fingers crossed!
