capri-schorsch
Hi,after my Porsche RSR only waits for some gallery pics and the bmw is a lunch break project,i need something new. Here is it.@Quelle: STP Oil CompanyThe STP indy gas turbine car from 1967.The car that nearly won the indy 500.A short wiki link:1967 INDY Gas Turbine CarThe 1967 Studebaker STP Special was built by Andy Granatelli. The side engine racer was driven by Parnelli Jones. In the 200 mile race (500 miles) at The Brickyard, Car #40 lead 171 laps. On the 197th lap, it suffered a gear box failure ($6.00 part) and eventually finished sixth. What might have been the impact on automobiles had the gas turbine-driven car actually won the race? The turbine should have about 550hp and was a strange engine for race cars. Its the first time i do an indy car or even an us car.So dont be too hard to me.!Here is a short overview of the parts i got.The kits include nearly two turbine cars.Only some parts are missing, but i think i can do one out of them two.The turbine comes from a modeler from austria and was not so expensive. Decals are already here. Thanks to Michael from Indycals!First step is to sort the parts out the i've got twice. The rest will be dissembled and remove from the bandai chrome.Right now i dont know how much detailing i will do.I got some nice pics, but not so much i got from European or formula one cars.If someone wants to share his pics, just sent it to me please.Thats all for today.regardsChristian
capri-schorsch
Project is canceled. Sorry, but i found out that this is not my kind of race car.I cant find enough motivation to make a good model from it. If someone is interested in my 1,5 turbine cars just sent me a pm. Thanks!
