6029 King Stephen
My apologies if this is in the wrong place but I have recently bought a Tamiya Churchill tank on eBay that included the Eduard detail parts. I have looked at the instructions for these and what is best way to go about building the kit using these parts. Do I follow the kit instructions whilst keeping an eye on the detail part's instructions and adding the detail as I go or do I fit all the detail parts before starting to build the kit? Regards, Steve
bangle
I'd say add the detail as you go. Exactly when you add it depends on if it is going to it flat on your model or is going to stick out and possibly get knocked off. In the end though it is personal preference, I sometimes annotate my instructions with a reference that reminds me that there is PE to go on in a particular area so that I remember. Flicking backwards and forwards between instruction sets can be a pain! Anyway I hope this helps, Amanda
dubster72
Steve, I look through both instruction sheets & then on the kit sheet mark PE! in red pen wherever the photo etch replaces a kit part. That way saves too many 'doh!' moments! Cheers Patrick
Sgt.Squarehead
I'd add, only use the PE when it actually looks better than the kit part.....It's just too flat for some items.
