Cheap paint?

I read an article in a magazine a couple of years ago about using art acrylics. Something about having to use an additive to make it stick to plastics I think.

Not much help, but I'm sure an expert will be along shortly!

Rick.

I've used a number of art acrylics in the past, some with good results and others with not so good results. Good quality ones work well, and some are actually even better than some modelling paints, with very fine pigments. However these are not cheap anyway, and at that point better use dedicated modelling paints that at least guarantee they work, while artist paints might or not work depending on many factors

Yes I'm with Giorgio on this. I have used artists acrylics in the past. I am professional artist and as acrylics are my chosen medium they were to hand. This 222 was painted almost exclusively with good quality artists acrylics and as you can see a reasonable finish can be achieved. They are very expensive though and if you didn't have them anyway it would be daft to buy any for modelling purposes.
