Karel Doorman The Last Cruise, Grumman S-2A Tracker and SH-34 Helicopter

Recommended Posts

Thanks Ian, I do feel that all the work that has gone into the build is now beginning to bear fruit. I am itching to have another bash at the Tracker but I have to be thinking about Telford at the moment.

Lovely work Martian. I hope that you are getting as much enjoyment out of the doing as I am getting from watching you do it! Telford sounds lovely key so much fun, anyway you could give me a lift when you fly by?

I suppose deadlines are a good thing to have sometimes.

Cheers Terry. Telford is well worth a visit, there is everything one could possibly want under one roof and thousands of great models to see. All in all, the largest and best bun fight in the solar system!

Thanks for looking

Currently only on p.8 of a read-through of this thread Martian and my jaw is raw from constantly hitting the ground. Those interiors are some of the finest work of it's kind that I've seen.

Looks as if well have another coffee to put on the round at Telford then Martian, already got to add you into the round

I bet Tony'll come now, too.  ☺

Coffee? Ale please, I do have some standards, pretty low ones admittedly but standards none the less.

Saving up!  Besides, I've never been to a model show before - I've heard they're a bit like Las Vegas?

Vegas rules you mean?

Hmm possibly

Apres Telford le deluge ;)

Martian I would gladly have you on the beer list, I was worried, nay perturbed as to whether your alien constitution was up to it

I have read HG Wells you know

Beer indeed, it is

Telford is quite simply the best bun fight on the planet, Mars included. Especially if you get in on the after hours "socialising". :pardon:

Cut me and I bleed beer! Which is why I get so upset if I cut myself; shocking waste!

I suppose you carry a spare cup and gaffer tape then, just in 'horrible' case

I will try to park Wopsie as far away from this as possible, just in case anybody wants to see her

I prefer to replenish with fresh supplies!

Wopsie has nothing to fear from this thing, she is way too cute.

I've now tied a scarf around my head to stop my jaw from dropping so much, and this seems to be helping.

Having fired off the daily barrage of likes for this thread (BTW: tell me to stop Martian if they become irritating!) I struggle for adequate language to express my admiration for the mixture of inventiveness and precision in your work. Lord only knows what you'd achieve with a Roc.....:D

I must make enquiries about getting some magnifying glasses made up by my optician, which sounds eminently sensible.

Telford could be a BM Navy helicopter extravaganza; I'm toying with the idea of adding my Sea King to the fray

They do indeed help with fine detailing, the only caveat is that they tempt one with ever more insane ideas. How do I know this?

The Sea King's presence is compulsory unless you want to be up in front of the Martian's Table!

These last few days I have been spending my time mostly getting the cabin seats painted up. As with the rest of the detail painting thus far it has been time consuming but rewarding. I have also added the long support struts running from the top of the transmission housing to the rear of the transmission deck. The sonar well and sonar bouy have been painted up and Eduard seat belts added to the pilot's and co-pilot's seats.

Next up I have to find what I did with all the black boxes associated with the sonar that I so painstakingly constructed so that I may start getting them painted up. Another room tidy I guess!

Post Image having issues today so its back to Phototurd for this update.

Thanks for looking

Impressive Clutter !!

All helping to make a great representation

Kev

Thanks Kev, the clutter on my bench is less impressive however. At least their is some semblance of order on the helicopter. Anything that appears ordered in the Martian cave is just one of those phenomenally unlikely coincidences that nature throws up from time to time!

Thanks, I think I can see a tiny pinprick of light at the end of the tunnel, although there is still more than ample scope for me to screw thing up!
