Muzz
Never seen or heard of this before, makes sense seeing the US had the Have Doughnut trials etc. F-14 Tomcat with red stars anyone?! http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-Flanker.html Edited March 27, 2014 by Muzz
Giorgio N
This picture appeared a few years ago, however very soon it was found that it was just a photoshop job on an already existing picture of an iranian aircraft. There's another picture around and that one too is a fake. Considering the reputation of that website, I'm not surprised to see a fake picture there..

Totally fake and it's been proved to be a photo-shop job many times, this website has before and after images of the supposed Soviet Tomcats... It is fairly interesting though, especially for a 'what-if' model... As Giorgio hinted, that Australian website linked is riddled with politics, propaganda and downright mis-information. Flankerman
I did this WIF a while back - using an old Nakotne Su-30 kit...... The Flanker suits the VF-1 Tomcat scheme...... The nosewheel, armament & decals came from the Airfix F-14 kit. The model was inspired by an article in the US magazine 'Flight Journal' dated February 2002 - where a proposal was put forward by Robert W. Kress and Rear Adm. Paul Gillcrist, US Navy (Retd) suggesting the replacement of the F-14 Tomcat by the Su-27!! More details of the build are here. Ken
