AntPhillips
Topic header says it all really, I'd like to add some Ensigns and Union Flags to the kits I'm building, but I'm not sure how to do this in 1/350 scale. @ My first thought was to add decals to a suitably sized piece of foil, thereby allowing me to shape them once dried. Would this work and what's the best method of attaching them to the Jack staff? Looking for ideas. Ant
Ingo Degenhardt
I am by no means an expert regarding ship models, but with my Type45 I used this method: I applied the flag decals on a piece of cigarette paper, let dry for a while and then cut out the flag. After that I mixed water with white glue, soaked the now paper-backed flag decal and folded it around a string of stretched sprue. This way, the flag could even be formed to my liking. When dry, I cut the stretched sprue to length and glued it to the top and bottom of the flagstaff - with the flag on top of course. I am satisfied with the result.
