Carts
Went rooting through some old model boxes where I came across my old monogram re-issue of the Mummy, which I think I got in about 83,(I had had an Aurora glow in the Dark back in the mists of time),he was missing a few bandages, but some thin plastic card took care of that. So Here he is restored after well over a decade in the cellar. During a lull in repainting I made the rookie mistake of checking out E-Bay,came across a couple of un-boxed,but complete "Luminators" kits, modelling allowance for the month spent,I was soon rewarded with a Phantom and a Dracula made out of the worst plastic I have ever had to fettle and a stupendous amount of flash in the most ghastly shades of see through orange and green! The Phantom was a favourite when I was a kid and holds up pretty well even today, the screaming prisoner was just as gruesome as I remembered him to be,Which was a bonus! Dracula presented exactly the same problem I had with him over 38 years ago, trying to get the cape to match up! Still I would like to think I am a little more mature now.(possibly) Well I have to go and check out my cellar,I have a funny feeling an Aurora Wolfman and Hunchback may be lurking at the bottom of a box full of crud! Thanks for looking, Andy
hendie
nice work. I had several of the glow in the dark monsters back in the late 60's and loved them.
Carts
Thanks Hendle, they do have a real nostalgic appeal don't they. These 2 rescued from the cellar are genuine Aurora kits i picked up in the early 80s that were in the stock room of my sadly long gone LMS,He had a pile of these two particular kits and a few Seaviews,Batmans, and a whole stash of the smaller monster of the movies kits,if I had had the foresight, and more importantly the money,I would have took the lot,I had to pass on the Seaview:( Andy

general melchett
Ah, I recall having a lot of these back in the late sixties, mostly 'glow in the dark' issues but a couple of long box originals found there way in too...if I'd known then how much they would be worth in mint condition one day, but hey, hindsight is a wonderful thing !! and besides it was fun blowing them up with fireworks back back in the day..... Saying that I found a near mint Glow in the Dark' Dr Jeckyll' at a boot fair near Eastbourne some years ago which was bought for the princely sum of 50P by the missus who thought I might like it !...still in its cellophane wrapping, never had luck like that since....
