derek burton
Anyone have an idea of what Acrylic colours to use for the light earth and light green on the lower wings on these types of aircraft. Cheers Dek.
keith in the uk
If you can get hold of Model Aircraft Monthly February 2007 there are two builds of Gladiators one of which is the scheme you are looking for. The builder ends up using Standard RAF Dark Green & Dark Earth then for the lighter shades Humbrol Light Earth 119 & Light Green 120. Also Camouflage & Markings number 5 is a big help too Hope this helps

John
We'v commented here in the past about the similarities between Light Earth and Middle Stone, so using Humbrol 225 for Light Earth isn't going to be too far away. I think Humbrol 120 is too light and grey for Light Green, which isn't actually that light a shade. Out of the pot something like 86 Light Olive would probably give a good effect. Robin-42
I have an article by a restorer of 1:1 scale aircraft and the formula for the lower colours is 3 parts dark earth to 1 part insignia white and 3 parts dark green to 1 part insignia white. Most post war restorations have this wrong. Well not wrong, they just ignore it.
