Carts
I never had this kit as a kid,I collected the Dinosaurs, and my brother collected the Mammals, however this one always kind of upset me,the helpless Rhino and the waiting Vulture, its all a bit macabre. So in my mind, the rhino scrambles out, snots the vulture and carries on his merry way.(incidentally wooly rhinos have never been found a La brea tarpits) The box, note the 87p cost! Stew Dapple
My older brother had a selection of those kits - and the 'Glow in the Dark' horror film characters made by Aurora - when we were kids, thanks for the nostalgia trip Andy Cheers, Stew
fu_manchu
The kit looks infinitely better than the box art and you've made a good job of it
Darby
Certainly different. I'd have thought the tar would have frozen during the Ice Age hence allowing the rhino to trot merrily across it and resulting in a grumpy and hungry vulture
wyverns4
The La Brea Tar Pits were a bit too far south to affected by the Quaternary glaciations with the vegetation being more of a savanah type. A real blast from the past! Between my mate who lived next door and myself we had all of these and the the 'glow-in-the-dark horror kits as well. Happy, innocent days. Now I look at the eight displays assembled together and find the inaccuracies horrifying! APS, (Advanced Palaeontological Syndrome), I guess...
