swordfish fairey
After years of resisting part-works I have bitten the bullet and subscribed to this beastie....It was inevitable really as the D-51 is my favourite locomotive and the model is very impressive indeed.....I know all the arguments about costs etc, but where else are you going to get something like this?? http://d51.model-space.com/gb/ Here is a link to You Tube with the real thing doing its stuff, preserved in Japan.. Oh! that whistle................And the Japanese driver just loves using it. Smudge
Glen T
You've got to like those Chime whistles, it's a very impressive loco and a great size, now they just started a Great British Loco collection too all very tempting. Glen.
swordfish fairey
I am well into collecting the packs of bits (4th one so far) and so I have made a start on it, very different to "plastic bashing" but very satisfying........ Smokebox door with the hinges attached And the Smokebox itself......... I've soldered the chimney and it is ready to be fitted.......... The main frames are bolted loosely together with the Smokebox saddle at the front end........... Smudge
